My dad has a redundant colon, meaning he has either an extra foot of colon, or an extra loop that the stool has to get through. He suffered his whole life from constipation, and then when he had his first colonoscopy, they had a really hard time getting up there because his colon had an extra loop that the scope couldn’t get through. He finds taking metamucil 3x per day helps him and now he is regular. I have also suffered my whole life from constipation, i’m 31, I assume i inherited his redundant colon too lol. But i have never proved it. But the metamucil does not help me. I really want to have a colonoscopy (which sounds crazy) to see if i have that extra loop. Thank you for posting this.
