The cops had me climb down and warned me about trespassing in a semi-friendly way— by that point, there were probably two dozen of us on three boxcars, and I doubt they would have wanted to deal with the paperwork. Never saw Biker dude again. Nice guy. Wouldn’t want to meet him under other circumstances, probably, but nice guy. Good taste in music.

Back when I was a law student, Metallica gave a free show at the  Fakes Business Sweatshirt  I got there as quick as I could after a class, but the parking lot was all full. Could barely see the stage through the parking lot fence. Probably 25,000 people showed up. I glanced across the street, and noticed a parked train with several boxcars behind it sitting on a side track. Climbed to the top of a boxcar. Great view, sound was fine. A few minutes later, a guy wearing notorious outlaw motorcycle gang patches on his denim vest hopped up, and sat down next to me. By the third song, we were talking heavy metal, other shows we’ve seen, trying to guess the next song. Having a great time. Dude knew his music, and was really funny. Just as the concert was ending
