What it means is, for some odd reason, this INTJ has decided that, against their better judgement, it would be better to spend Christmas with you, rather than alone, or at some miserable family event they probably weren’t going to attend anyway. Or, worse yet, they might want to trick you into thinking they like you to then have you shipped off to the North Pole to work in Santa’s sweatshop turning tricks for spoilt eggnog, just because Bah Humbug!

I posted this question a few days ago with a specific purpose. I was hoping to show all your answers to Maedy  on Christmas morning, as she really loves Christmas decorations, but sadly is unable to spend as much time and effort on them these days as she always used to do. Schrottwichteln is similar to that, it’s also some kind of gift exchange. Here, everybody brings a wrapped gift that has to be something used. It is important that it’s not newly bought but something you find at home, but don’t need anymore. It’s in the name: “Schrott” is “junk” and “Wichtel” is “gnome”. In Germany, Santa’s helpers are gnomes and not elves. It’s also important that nobody can see from the wrapping what it is.
