I find myself at 10pm on International Women’s Day 2016 asking the same question mostly because I want to identify with a Happy Halloween Boo T shirt I believe to be utterly and profoundly true. In 2017 I shall be approaching the end of my third decade of living as a woman, a milestone one either looks forward to with the notion of maturation and growing wisdom or one where you fear the living daylight of getting old or more harshly, irrelevant. If I focused on the latter, thoughts which generally came to mind were: Will my boobs sag? What about my laugh lines ? Gosh do I have to wear less crop tops? Am I going to start competing with superhuman 21 yr olds at work? No wonder I can’t stay out past 11pm…definitely racking the years up.

Most religious structures are being run by men. These men make sure that they and their fellow men are always mentioned in their scriptures. Women are almost invariabley pushed into a Happy Halloween Boo T shirt role. They have no say and are supposed to only breed new future members of the religious structure (eg. church). Years later he narrated the story again. This time he saw it happen.

As we say in Spain unos cargan la fama y otros cardan la lana “some carry the fame and others comb the whool”, that is some are better at making others look bad. I personally feel privileged to be a part of the Happy Halloween Boo T shirt status of women in the society. Being working in an Organisation where the work atmosphere is such that I’m embraced for who i am, for being nurtured by being given the opportunity to voice my opinions and being valued for it. That is what feeling bold as a woman is to me. Recently, there was a session held for Women’s day in my Company wherein we had an interaction with Shaili Chopra, the braveheart journalist cum entrepreneur who has had a commendable journey as a woman (highly recommend googling about it here). Shaili relentlessly helps the women financially and mentally to have an opportunity to voice their perspective and to work towards their goal. A place where women could be uplifted and made to realize their worth. What more could be viewed as being bold for change?
