It bothers me a lot cause it kinda feels like people are laughing at something I really love. Like Heart Kansas City Chiefs Shirt I get that you might not be able to get scared at movies but you don’t gotta say that the things I love are so bad they’re laughable. My mom hates it when I listen to metal in the car cause it hurts her head, but she’s never once called my taste in music trashy because she doesn’t like it. It doesn’t take that much energy to not shit all over something that someone really lovesAlso I feel like a lot of comments here are missing the point. I don’t think OPs saying it’s bad to laugh at intentionally funny parts of a movie. Or if you laugh cause you’re scared. But if you actively say shit like “the movie is laughable” to someone who had just said they really like the movie.

Conversely I find it strange how people can be legitimately afraid of a movie. A jump scare might cause me to flinch or exhale some air from my nose but getting scared from media is strange to me. Which is weird because as a kid I was terrified of scary movies, video games, or just generally anything scary. When I grew up life just stopped being scary if that makes sense. The only time in my adult life I’ve felt genuine fear was when I had sleep paralysis and that is a fear unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my life and hope to never experience again.
