We all strongly suspected he was using (very much looked the part) but was still managing to do his various under the table handyman job, so hadn’t called him on it. Then he went missing for a few days…grandad waited until he knew uncle would be out of the amount of insulin he usually carried and went looking. Found him dead in a camper in the woods of a friend’s property. He had been dead for probably 3 days, the police guessed. We suspect he was trying to DIY detox and it went very wrong. Maybe his blood sugar bottomed out and he fell into a coma (wouldn’t be the first time) and just kept falling. Maybe it was a straightforward last-hurrah OD. An autopsy wouldn’t make him less dead, but it would cost grandad quite a bit. I feel like there’s a point here, bc I tell this story online kind of a lot. Possible: Something was wrong with my uncle’s brain. He was easily influenced, wanted friends more than anything. People used him. He needed more help and structure than my grandparents could provide. He liked jail because there was structure, clear expectations, boundaries and simple rules. I believe there are some people who are damaged, but not “disabled enough” to merit the attention of the state. People like that–like my uncle–wind up on drugs and as petty criminals. But what if our education system could screen for people like him and set them up in a structured environment where they can be productive and thrive? Uncle liked to work. He was the type that could sorta fix most anything, but was awful in school. What if he’d had a free, secure, communal living situation where he learned a trade? Would he have gotten into drugs? Would he still be alive?

If I really want to show disrespect to my flag or Neffs, Ohio, Neffs Fire Department Christmas Ugly Sweater For Men Women I would just simply ignore it completely. What I saw today, kneeling with a hand on their chest and head down or locking arms showing unity, at least to me, is NOT a gesture of disrespect. It is DIFFERENT from what we’re used to for sure, but it seemed to me a different form of the same thing. They’re simply doing this to express their disagreement with Trump, and possibly what’s going on in today’s society in general, in a way that they know will grab attention. I’ve heard people say they should keep politics out of sports, or that they could protest all they want on their own time. Keep in mind that majority of players did not start doing this, and majority of fans probably did not care one way or another, until Trump crossed this line and suggested the players be fired for exercising their right. What good is a protest if nobody sees or hears it? These are professional athletes. This is their best platform for making a statement. If the league and the owners have no problem with them doing this, and some are actually doing it WITH them, then I don’t see how anyone else would have valid reasons to shut them up.

I am a middle child. It was believed he may have been a missing child from a region where my mother had moved from. He looked similar to the child and even had similar birth marks but the investigation ruled it wasn’t the same child. So many aspects bring questions and I know the child still remains missing. My sister I have no questions of. She does however suffer from mental illness and ran away at 15. She stole over $18k worth of jewelry and cash and disappeared. She was gone almost a year before being found. She was found with a boyfriend (I use this term loosely because of what I know). The boyfriend had been questioned and his residence searched on several occasions but in the end it was where she was found. Her slip was being spotted over a hundred miles away by someone that knew her and her bf. With these two aspects of my life I have zero doubt someone can go 20 years without being found. Maybe not so much today but it was much easier in the past.
