When Delores spent his first night actually out with the other chickens in the Oregon Ducks Grinch Ugly Christmas Sweater, I was anxious about how he would handle himself, as he was pretty shy. After a few false starts (and getting pushed off perches by the other chickens) he chose a walnut branch that lead to the night perches and slept on that. When Delores became a big, beautiful Golden Phoenix adult rooster, I thought the hens would probably make absolute fools of themselves trying to get his attention – and if he ignored them it would serve them right! I suppose I should have done something about the name – but Delores responded to “Delores” and appeared fine with it. (Also, my Aunt Delores would have been devastated if I changed his name.) A friend suggested calling him “Del” – which sort of made sense – but that sounded like he was lead singer in a retro 60’s band. As long as Delores didn’t mind – and let’s face it, he didn’t care – I was perfectly content to have a sweet rooster named Delores.

Who was the worst coach in NFL history? When discussing the worst coaches in NFL history, assuming you’re only referring to head coaching duties, names like Rod Marinelli, Dave Shula, Lou Holtz, and Lane Kiffin are often bandied about, amongst others. These characters represent two major categories of Oregon Ducks Grinch Ugly Christmas Sweater professional coaching careers; the highly-regarded NFL assistant who couldn’t hack it as a head coach (Gus Bradley, Kevin Gilbride, etc.), and the successful college coach who was unable to transition into coaching multimillionaires (Spurrier, Saban, et al.). In defense of the first four coaches mentioned above, all of them inherited horrible teams. But a few coaches have taken on decently successful franchises, yet completely failed during their fleeting NFL careers.

Since my husband Wayne died of Parkinson’s Disease the morning of January 08, 2018, the artificial tree has stayed up. After Wayne’s death, I just did not have the Oregon Ducks Grinch Ugly Christmas Sweater to take it apart and store the tree in the basement. It just stayed up in the living room. It’s quite heavy and awkward — I’m actually physically incapable of doing this by myself. During the year 2019, I redecorated the tree as a Valentine’s Day tree, St. Patrick’s Day tree, Easter egg tree, May Day tree, Canada Day tree, Thanksgiving Day/fall harvest tree and Christmas/holiday tree.The artificial wreaths will be stored in the basement this week. The fresh pine boughs in containers will be put out when they begin to drop their needles. I’ll be doing the same with the tree in 2020 as I did last year.
