The family has moved into their own home now, an older home (still nice, but no high ceilings and not many elf hiding places!), and the children have both multiplied AND grown older, taller, and Peanuts Snoopy Charlie Brown Woodstock Under Full Moon Charlie Brown Halloween Shirt. The Elf game is now the bane of the mom’s existence. Hiding it is a task. Several times this year, the Elf hasn’t had to go back to Santa because the kids were SO good the day before, thus explaining why he remained in the exact same hiding spot as the previous day. One evening, the mom is flustered. She finally hands the Elf to the dad and says,Β you hide the #%)(#^# elf today, but hide it high, because Big M is testing the waters and going to touch the #%(^#^ thing.” Dad’s answer is less than ideal – not only is the perch precarious, but it’s easily within reach of at least the oldest child, if not the second oldest as well. And it’s possible the elf is also judging the thermostat temp, which is an ongoing passive aggressive battle between mom (who sits at home and freezes all day) and dad (who pays the bills, but also works in his nice warm office all day).
(Peanuts Snoopy Charlie Brown Woodstock Under Full Moon Charlie Brown Halloween Shirt)Critical hits happen on a Peanuts Snoopy Charlie Brown Woodstock Under Full Moon Charlie Brown Halloween Shirt 20 or if you roll 10 higher than the DC youβre trying to beat; critical misses happen on a natural 1 or if you roll 10 lower than the DC youβre trying to beat. Some skills, saving throws, and attacks take all four cases β hit, critical hit, miss, critical miss β into account, while some are less sensitive. However, this has a very interesting impact on the game, as saves, skill rolls, and attacks become potentially much more eventful. This comes up especially if you are staging a fight where the players and the enemies are not equal in level. The higher-level party has a higher bonus to everything, the lower-level party has a lower AC and saves, so one will tend to score way more critical hits than the other. If the party is level 5+ and fighting low-level mooks, those enemies will simply melt before their weapons. Likewise if the party is level 5 and fighting a level 10 or 11 monster, they are exceedingly likely to be crushed.

Skalacon the Wizard, βCurator of magicβ: Skalacon is one of the first big NPCs my players meet. He is evil, but he obeys the Peanuts Snoopy Charlie Brown Woodstock Under Full Moon Charlie Brown Halloween Shirt of the town so he doesn’t get into trouble. He is the ambassador to the Poomij Family so he has diplomatic immunity β you can’t touch a hair on his head (literally, because he is bald) without starting a war among the families; you don’t want that. That’s why people tolerate him. That said, Skalacon can take care of himself. He is a 13th level wizard. My players are about 5th to 9th right now. I keep the powerful (and important) NPCs a nice gap ahead of the players for good reason. Use this simple trick. Skalacon has a Quasit that can cast fear, invisibility and make a poison attack. The party hasn’t killed or even attackedΒ βSlimeballβΒ yet, but if things ever get hairy βΒ SlimeballΒ will intervene first. Slimeball has been seen without Skalacon, causing some havoc and doing his masterβs bidding. My players have never bothered him, not yet.

Henry Corwin, a down-and-out ne’er-do-well, dressed in a Peanuts Snoopy Charlie Brown Woodstock Under Full Moon Charlie Brown Halloween Shirt, worn-out Santa Claus suit, has just spent his last few dollars on a sandwich and six drinks at the neighborhood bar. While Bruce, the bartender, is on the phone, he sees Corwin reaching for the bottle; Bruce throws him out. Corwin arrives for his seasonal job as a department store Santa, an hour late and obviously drunk. When customers complain, Dundee, the manager, fires him and orders him off the premises. Corwin says that he drinks because he lives in a “dirty rooming house on a street filled with hungry kids and shabby people” for whom he is incapable of fulfilling his desired role as Santa. He declares that if he had just one wish granted him on Christmas Eve, he’d “like to see the meek inherit the earth”. Still in his outfit, he returns to the bar but is refused re-entry by Bruce. Stumbling into an alley, he hears sleigh bells. A cat knocks down a large burlap bag full of empty cans; but when he trips over it, it is now filled with gift-wrapped packages. As he starts giving them away, he realizes that the bag is somehow producing any item that is asked for. Overjoyed at his sudden ability to fulfill dreams, Corwin proceeds to hand out presents to passing children and then to derelict men attending Christmas Eve service at Sister Florence’s “Delancey Street Mission House”. Irritated by the disruption and outraged by Corwin’s offer of a new dress, Sister Florence hurries outside to fetch Officer Flaherty, who arrests Corwin for stealing the presents from his former place of employment. At the police station, Dundee reaches into the garbage bag to display some of the purportedly stolen goods, but instead finds the empty cans and the cat.
