I was just starting to build my flock of chickens from the four I already had (one rooster, three hens) to a Scrappy Doo Ruler of the B team cartoon shirt of ten. However, denial is a powerful characteristic, and I tried to convince myself that Delores really WAS a hen and maybe she was just big boned.

It isn’t very old tradition in Finland, but it’s a very natural decoration that was easy to adopt. (There is an ancient tradition to decorate houses with small birches in Midsummer, so a christmas tree feels like a good equivalent in the winter).
