And honestly, I think Megadeth is 100 times the band Metallica is/was. So, if you look at all those guys that came to be in that 1983 era – Malmsteen, etc – they are better players. The ONLY players that are worse were the two guys in Slayer (King/Hanneman) who I don’t think even had rudimentary knowledge of the scales Hammet constantly uses. My opinion – but I’ve been playing for 40 years and have heard a lot of players. For a guy that studied with Satch, he should be a LOT better.
