The KJV was the version in use at the time of Joseph Smith, so still using it today improves consistency among the God gifted me two titles dad and teacher and I rock them both shirt. I wont lie or attempt to misrepresent this question as something it is not,God gifted me two titles dad and teacher and I rock them both shirtwas formerly Mormon and no longer believe it. One of the issues I had when I was Mormon was this:Why does the prophet not ever prophesy? I mean, like, actual prophesies not day-to-day operational changes like missionaries serving at a younger age or where the next temple is being built, but like things that make the world a better place or help the members in ways that apply to more than just “in the next life…” Why does it feel that Mormons are always decades (or sometimes generations) behind on social issues and that prophecies only come after immense social pressure – see polygamy, blacks with the priesthood, oaths of vengeance, women’s rights, Prop 8 related stuff, etc. Shouldn’t a prophet, with a direct connection to God, be ahead of the curve and not behind it?That never sat well with me. I’m not saying you can’t explain it, maybe you can, but I’ve just never heard a satisfactory reason for this.

So Rita goes out to find me. But, being Rita she does not use the front door of her house. Having spent her childhood reading too many girl mysteries, she decides to remove the window screen and exit via her bedroom window! It’s late evening. She walks the few blocks over to our house, sees my car parked in front, goes half-way up the walk, and then stops. What if one of my rather formal parents answers the door rather than me? The thought of explaining her sudden appearance on their doorstep to my somewhat intimidating parents gives her cold feet.
